Febuary 14 is our last session at Banter. Read more here…
Irish Traditional Music sessions are held at Banter on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from 3-5 p.m. Participants must play traditional Irish music instruments: fiddle, whistle, Irish flute, bodhran, uilleann pipes, harp, concertina, guitar, banjo, bouzouki, button or piano accordion, or hammered dulcimer.
We play many tunes that can be found in the tune books prepared for the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, which can be found at www.dallasslowessions.com in PDF.
The session is sponsored by the Texas Irish Music Education Society. For more information and to be added to the mailing list, contact John Murphy at dentonirishsession@jpm76210.com. Once in a great while, fewer than five times per year, the session has to be canceled. To be sure the session is happening (especially if you’re traveling from outside of Denton), subscribe to the mailing list, contact John Murphy at the address above, or contact Banter by phone at (940) 565-1638 or on their Facebook page.
